BYU

Hey Everyone!!  Well, it seems like everyone in my family has been getting these, so I thought I'd hop on the bandwagon.  This way you can all hear what I'm doing in here at BYU.

Well, it's my second semester here at BYU and I've been here about a month.  And yes, I'm still loving it.  I'm living in the Helamen Halls again, this time David John.  It's different though, because instead of only having one roommate and sharing a bathroom with the whole hall, I have one roommate and we connected to a bathroom and one other room with two girls.  My roommate is Brandy and she's from Las Vegas.  Then, my suite-mates are Jessie and Jenna from South Jordan, Utah and Southern California.  They're all really fun and we have a great ward.  I got my calling and I'm a visiting teaching supervisor.  I think this is the first I haven't had a piano calling.  Woohoo!!  Well, we'll see how it goes.
From left to right that's me, Jessie, Jenna, and Brandy.

It's fun being here fall semester.  I've done a lot of things that I didn't get to do before.  I LOVE the football games.  Right now BYU is ranked 9 with a record of 6-0!!  My first college football game was against UCLA and we dominated with a score of 59-0.  It was definitely a good way to start out.  It's starting to get colder and the last game I went to I actually had to wear a jacket too.  They're still really fun and I have seats with my roommate from last semester, Julianna.
A couple weeks after we got here a bunch of people from my ward went and hiked the Y at night.  I had left my tennis shoes in my locker, so I hiked in flipflops.  It actually wasn't as bad as everyone said it would be.  It was a lot of fun and the view is beautiful when you get to the top.  The next night we went and had a bonfire up in the Canyon.  It was a lot of fun.  I feel like I'm getting all of my freshman Provo experiences out of the way.
That is us on the Y.
This last weekend was homecoming so all week they had different activities.  One day they had what they called "True Blue Football".  At Helamen Fields they had flagfootball, volleyball, tug-of-war, and a slip-n-slide set up.  However, all over these things was massive amounts of blue foam.  It made everything very slippery and everyone went and played in it and got dyed blue.  There were some people who were still blue on Sunday.  I think my toes are still blue.
Friday I went to the Haunted Forest with my roommates and some of their friends.  It was a lot of fun, however, I don't think it was as scary as the haunted house in Colorado.  Plus, we could kind of see what was going to happen because we could see the groups in front of us.  It was still a lot of fun though.

This weekend I leave for Jamaica!!  I'm going for a week with my mom and dad for my graduation trip.  I cannot wait.  I'll write about that when I get back.  I hope to be better at this blog then I have been at blogs in the past, so hopefully you'll hear from me regularly!

How fun that you're blogging, Rachel! You are making me miss being a Cougar; oh, how I loved going to football games every fall. After I graduated, I made Michael get me season tickets so I could still go (cheaply). I also lived in Helaman Halls--May Hall, which is now boys, right?

I didn't know you were going to Jamaica, too. How fun! I can't believe that you are taking a whole week off school!

Have fun.
